On April 23, 2025 a ceremonial cancellation of a limited edition of postage stamps dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War took place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU).

The ceremony was attended by veterans, representatives of government structures, public organizations, students, and honored guests.

Welcome remarks at the ceremony were made by representatives of key organizations and project partners:

Dmitry Evlashkov, director of the representation of "Rossiskaya Gazeta" in Central Asia, noted the symbolic nature of the stamp release as an act of historical continuity.
Sergey Vakunov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic, emphasized that such initiatives strengthen brotherly ties between countries and form respect for the feats of ancestors.
Sergey Volkov, acting rector of KRSU, pointed out the significance of such projects for educating the youth in the spirit of respect for history and preserving a shared cultural heritage.
Maxim Syshchikov, general director of leasing.express, stressed the importance of remembering heroes as a moral guide and a model of social responsibility on the part of business.
Anton Sobin and Andrei Stepanuk, shareholders of the investment fund Central Asia Capital, noted that supporting such initiatives helps preserve cultural and historical identity, uniting generations and nations.

Cancellation of Stamps — A Symbol of Eternal Memory

The central event of the ceremony was the solemn cancellation of the limited edition of stamps. This symbolic procedure was conducted by the general director of JSC "Kyrgyzpochta" Marat Cherikchiev and the director of the representation of "Rossiskaya Gazeta" in Central Asia Dmitry Evlashkov.

The commemorative series is dedicated to the Kyrgyzstani who were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, as well as full cavaliers of the Order of Glory. During the Great Patriotic War, Kyrgyzstan sent over 360 thousand people to the front — nearly every fourth resident of the republic. An additional over 30 thousand worked in the defense industry outside the Kyrgyz SSR.

For courage and selflessness, more than 150 thousand Kyrgyzstani were awarded orders and medals. 73 natives of the republic received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and 21 Kyrgyzstani became full cavaliers of the Order of Glory of three degrees.

The stamps commemorate the names of those who earned the highest state awards through their valor and selflessness. These are the Heroes of the Soviet Union and full cavaliers of the Order of Glory — people whose fates became part of the great Victory.

Part of the print run will be given to participants of the Victory Parade on May 9 in Moscow. Thus, the commemorative stamp becomes not only a collectible rarity but also a symbol of historical memory that unites generations and countries.

The series was issued by "Rossiskaya Gazeta" and JSC "Kyrgyzpochta" with the assistance of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic, the investment fund Central Asia Capital, and the leasing company leasing.express.
